#45 Jim Maresh On Building a Wine Brand With a Great Product and Publicity

Growing up on a 100-acre vineyard in Dundee, Oregon, is something a person could take for granted. When Jim Maresh took an Economics 101 class in college, a professor said something that struck him: “Play your comparative advantages in life.” So he took his knowledge of farming, particularly helping the family tend to its fields of grapes, and got to work, creating Arterberry Maresh winery.

Listen in as Jim talks about Pinot Noirs; his new Chardonnay brand, Tan Fruit, that is making waves in the Pinot Noir-dominant Oregon wine industry; navigating the three-tier wine distribution system; how to build and grow a brand; and more.
