As its quarterly Community Impact Program volunteer event, the Portland team of LeadsRx volunteered at the Cat Adoption Team facility in Sherwood on June 22.

Nine staff toured the facility before helping prep for the June 25 Kitten Palooza, an event that is expected to see 100 kittens adopted in one day.

The team folded together more than 60 cardboard cat carriers, complete with volunteer-made bed padding in each, while others bagged up items to go home with each cat adopter. Some members also helped clean out kitten viewing areas.

Portland’s Cat Adoption Team (CAT) is the largest cat shelter in the Pacific Northwest, offering adoption, foster care, and veterinary services to homeless cats and kittens. According to its onsite white board and website, CAT has adopted out more than 57,000 cats in its history (more than 2,800 alone in 2021), gave homes to nearly 1,000 cats this year so far, and providing new loving homes to 92 kittens last week.

LeadsRx and its employees across the U.S. commit time quarterly for volunteer efforts as part of its CIP giving program.
