Community Impact Program Giving-Back Event: Baskets for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

The staff at the Portland headquarters (and some out-of-town visiting employees) of LeadsRx on Sept. 21 packed up toy baskets and coffee gift cards for patients and their parents at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

The packing party was the quarterly event for the LeadsRx Community Impact Program, which follows the Salesforce model of sharing a small fraction of our profits, product, and time – 1% of each, to be exact – to make a real impact on causes that are helping people.

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, part of the OHSU campus in Portland, has more than 1,000 doctors, nurses and staff all specially trained in pediatric care and dedicated exclusively to helping children with health issues.

Doernbecher recognizes that kids must be kids, and that smiles are an important part of helping a child get better. That’s why everything about Doernbecher is designed just for kids – from playrooms and playgrounds, to medical equipment and exam procedures. And the parents and family are an integral part of the treatment, care and healing process.

“We had a lot of fun and a few tears pulling together toys for kids and their families over at Doernbecher,” said AJ Brown, CEO & Co-Founder of LeadsRx. “Our Community Impact Program encourages all LeadsRx employees to take the time to contribute to causes just like this throughout the year.”

“We couldn’t have found a better cause than Doernbecher for this quarter’s Community Impact Program project,” said Larry Todd, LeadsRx VP of Worldwide Sales who delivered the 40-plus baskets to the hospital just a few miles away from the LeadsRx offices. “Many of us at LeadsRx have kids of our own, and there was definitely some heartfelt conversations among us as we put the baskets together. And the staff at the hospital were so thankful for the baskets that would be bringing smiles to the faces of child patients and their families.”

A dozen LeadsRx staff took part in the project and all are looking forward to next quarter’s “giving back” event. Remote staff were encouraged to donate time to causes in their regions.
